Q: Hello! I am a 22-year-old woman and have extreme acne all over my face and neck. During my teenage years I considered it as part of puberty but the issue still persists. I am really worried and want to know how to get rid of it. Please help me! Joanna
A:
Dear Joanna, you are suffering from adult acne. I agree that some people have acne in their teenage years because of puberty and hormonal changes but those who still tend to suffer from it are suffering from a different skin condition. Therefore, I recommend you to visit a dermatologist for proper skin examination.

Q: Hi, I am 39 years old and have started losing hair from the crown area. I may not be going bald completely at the moment but I do feel like a patch of hair is slowly disappearing on top of my head. Please tell me how can I control the hair loss and whether I might eventually go completely bald. Thanks! Farhan
A:
Dear Farhan, the slowly disappearing patch of hair could be a sign of baldness but if you regularly oil your hair using olive, mustard, castor or coconut oil then it may help in controlling the situation. If you really have the fear of losing all your hair eventually, I would advise you to get a check up done and start the treatment as soon as possible.

Q: Hi! I am 19 years old and have recently quit my nail biting habit. However, my hands look really bad because of all the years I had bit my nails and the skin around it. Please tell me how to make my hands look better, now that I have quit the bad habit. Neha
A:
Dear Neha, keep your hands and nails clean all the time. After sometime your nails will start to grow, so that’s not a problem. However, you need to control the urge to bite your nails and the surrounding skin. Rub some garlic regularly for a few days to ensure nail growth. Once they have grown, make sure they are well-maintained and apply cuticle, and nail cream to protect them.
