Mindhunter

Glued to the Screen
Mindhunter

This show is set in 1979 and revolves around two fictional FBI agents who set about interviewing serial killers that have already been caught in an effort to get to the bottom of their current, unsolved cases.
The source book for the show, Mind Hunter: Inside The FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, follows the work of John E. Douglas, a special agent in the FBI, who notoriously pursued some of America's worst killers, developing a lot of the profiling techniques that are still used today. In fact, the characters of Jack Crawford in The Silence Of The Lambs and Will Graham on Hannibal are both based on Douglas.

Treasure Trove

Treasure Trove
Indian all-rounder cricketer Irfan Pathan posted a picture with his wife Safa Baig on Facebook which created a heating debate among his fans. The photo portrays the couple, as they are sitting in a car happily. The caption reads: “This girl is trouble” alongside the hashtags #love and #wifey.
This cute couple post soon started receiving negative comments on how Baig, who is a model by profession, is ‘exposing’ her arms in the picture, deeming it ‘unislamic’. The backlash, however, did not end there. People also seemed to raise concern about the fact that Baig was wearing nail polish. This proceeded to turn into a frenzy of arguments on the post, regarding how a woman should and should not dress in public. To shut his critics up, the star cricketer tweeted: Kuch to log kahenge logo ka kaam hai kehna but always #love#travel. In all this hatred, however, there were also some people who defended Pathan’s wife and called out the people who were posting hate comments.

The Right Note

The Right Note
Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat's chemistry in Punjab Nahi Jaungi seems undeniable, and the film’s latest song just proves this even more. Shafqat Amanat Ali’s vocal does complete justice to Tere Naal. The song features the pair in the budding-love, butterflies-in-my-stomach stages and the video shows lots of bright colours being complimented by a soft tune. The teaser for the song also features Frere Hall in one of the segments – the wooden and brick corridor and tall, narrow doors, all of it. Go check it out before they release yet another beautiful song.

‘Pakistanis and Indians share more than just the colour of their skins’

NEWSBYTES

‘Pakistanis and Indians share more than just the colour of their skins’
Adnan Siddiqui is one of the most prominent faces in the local entertainment industry and since his Bollywood debut, he's made quite an impression across the border too. In a recent interview, the actor shared about his film Mom's response in his hometown and the political relation between India and Pakistan. However, just like Mahira and Fawad couldn't promote their Bollywood films Raees and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, respectively, Adnan Siddiqui and Sajal Aly, too found themselves unable to promote their film. "Obviously, it is a sad feeling when you are not able to promote a project you have spent tiring days and nights working on. But then you are relieved that the promotion lies in more than capable hands, for the likes of Sridevi and Nawaazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna."
Adnan believes, like many artistes, that art can bring about peace between India and Pakistan.
"No matter how hard people try, our cultural ties will come out strong. We share more than just the colour of our skins, we share history, we share values, we share customs and it is just a matter of time we will start sharing our artists, directors, writers, technicians on a large scale, too. I honestly believe we can find peace in art."

Mahira gets an unexpected compliment from Ranbir Kapoor
It’s no surprise that our very own Mahira Khan has fans all over the world but who knew Ranbir Kapoor is just as smitten by her as the rest are? In a recently released video of the Bollywood heartthrob, he was asked to share a list of which actresses he finds pretty, as part of an interview. He named Mahira, along with fellow Bollywood queens Katrina Kaif and Shraddha Kapoor. “Mahira Khan from Pakistan is very pretty,” Ranbir said in the video, before moving on to include Hollywood’s Wonder Woman Gal Gadot in the mix. Can’t really blame Ranbir for taking a fancy to Mahira, especially considering the actor’s recent public appearances. The Humsafar beauty has been looking better than ever off late, making a name for both, herself and Pakistan. Way to
go, Mahira!
