Zeb opens up on being left out of Coke Studio this season
Zeb Bangash was expected to be part of Coke Studio season 10, and as a music producer no less, yet she has been missing action so far and has, instead been featured on Pepsi Battle of the Bands. In a recent interview, the singer and music composer opened up about the controversy surrounding her switch. “I’m not too sure myself. There was talk of my participation as a composer for the ninth season too, since I’ve been a music director for films in India and Pakistan for a few years now,” she shared and added that she “had a few informal meetings” with the CS team and was told that “they’d love to have me on board”, even though there was no contract signed, “but by January it emerged that it wasn’t going to work out”. The singer, who has given hits on the musical show, like Paimona Bitte, Chup and Rona Chor Diya, went on to say that “what happened this year made me upset” and that “there was an emotional connection that seemed to be severed”.
Jami bags award at Locarno Festival
The filmmaker bagged the Open Doors – TFL (TorinoFilmLab) award at one of the longest-running international film festivals, recently. "Well that's very interesting because I was making the video for someone else," Jami laughed, as he received the award wearing black and white shalwar kameez. "Again, thank you so much, and this is very surprising, because I really wanted to be part of the next session somehow, somewhere with these people, so this is very interesting. Thank you so much."
The Open Doors – TFL is a special award in collaboration with TorinoFilmLab which aims to develop the winner's contacts at an international level and help initiate commercial negotiations on the projects currently being developed. Jami was one of the two Pakistani producers selected to be part of Open Doors Lab, the other one being Mehnaz Alavi Diwan. This award will help Jami seek support for his upcoming projects under the banner of Azad Films – Hit and Run, Jugnu and 92 Cricket World Cup (all slated for a release in 2019).

Model Saheefa Jabbar Khattak’s images from a recent brand shoot became a much discussed thing on the internet. But it was because she received a lot of hate on the pictures for her short, spunky haircut. The online bullies commented on her looks, saying the haircut looks bad, and went as far as to point fingers at
her character and claim she's a bad influence on the society.
Saheefa decided to go live on her Facebook to call out the hate and point out how such bullying reflects more on the haters and less on herself. "Cutting my hair doesn’t make me a bad person, a bad Muslim, or make me unsuitable for marriage," she said. Check out her entire video.
