Pakistani singer and humanitarian, Shehzad Roy started his career back in 1995 with his album Zindagi. After the success of his first album, Roy soon launched his second album Darshan in 1997. He is popular for his songs Teri Soorat, Kangna, and Saali. He also received a lot of appreciation for his socio-political album Qismat Apne Haath Mein. He recently produced and hosted two documented series – Chal Parha and Wasu aur Mein. While the former focuses on the state of public education in Pakistan, the latter follows Roy’s travel journey around Pakistan. Roy is the founder and president of a non-government charitable organisation called Zindagi Trust that strives to improve the quality of education in Pakistan. He was also awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz, one of the highest Civil Honours in Pakistan, for his excellent public service. He was again awarded with the same honour in 2006 for his organisation’s rehabilitation services after the 2005 Kashmir earthquake.
