It was back in 1985 that a young chap hailing from Hyderabad made his way to the mainstream music circuit. Saleem Javed is from the generation who pioneered the new age trend of pop music in Pakistan. He has been an active performer for over two decades and unlike the popsters of today, who often take shortcuts to fame, he's cut his teeth performing night after night live on stage.
SJ practically introduced re-mixing old songs with new instrumentation and improvisation twenty-three years ago. He did the first ever re-mix in Pakistan in his first album ‘Listen to My Voice’ launched in 1985 and the song was Janam Aii Janam by the legendary Madam Noor Jehan. He also has to his credit the introduction of wireless microphone, stage lights, live dhol players and sports songs in the country.
The best thing about SJ is the way he has transformed his personality with the passage of time while staying true to the pop genre. He has recently released his latest album called Dosti. Here, SJ shares his style preferences with the readers of MAG.

I had gained a lot of weight and I cut my hair short as well so it was a complete mismatch since my long hair covered my chubby look.

My jackets.
