• Drink extra water to keep your skin supple and moistuirsed from inside. Overdosing on salt aggravates fluid retention. A great cure to flush away extra fluids is to drink fresh coconut water everyday.
• Get enough sleep. Lack of sleep is seen first around the eyes.
• When you get up in the morning. Splash your face, especially the eye area with icy water.
• Keep your eyes cream and gel in the refrigerator. When you have to use them, they will refresh and depuff your eyes especially if they contain aloe vera or other depuffing agents.
Cosmetic Cures For Under Eye Dark Circles

• Look for creams and gels that contain aloe vera, chamomile and other herbs proven to fight puffiness, dark circles and lines.
• Normally, gels work better than creams.
• For under-eye dark circles, creams and gels with mild retinoic acid, kojic acid and vitamin C will help. Invest in a good branded product. There are creams and gels available for overnight use and for day care as well. These must be used only under the advise of a dermatologist.
• For fine lines, use products that contain active anti-ageing ingredients. Consult a dermatologist, and use pure vitamin E-oil around the eye area and leave overnight.
• Makeup experts say the right concealer can cover anything from puffiness to dark circles. The ideal concealer for Asian skin tones should have a yellow undertone. If you cannot find the perfect colour to suit your skin tone, mix a touch of yellow to your foundation and then apply, as it gives you perfect coverage.
The skin around the eyes is delicate and lacks oil glands. Sooner or later, we all learn that there is no area of the face more vulnerable to ageing than the area around the eyes. A combination of proper skin and eye care, sleep and enough water, will see you wake up looking as fresh as a daisy.

AND HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM

Common summer problems include sunburn, prickly heat, pigmentation and fungal infections. Follow
these stay cool tips and just chill!

• Avoid the sun between 10 am and 2 pm
• Use sunscreens, umbrellas, hats, sunglasses and stick to light coloured cotton clothes.
• Use antifungal powders after your bath especially in the folds like the underarms, groin, elbow and knee creases, neck and between the toes.
• Preferably, let your clothes sun dry to keep them fresh and clean.
• Drink 10 - 12 glasses of water and fresh fruit juices.
• Eat fruits like watermelon, musk melon, oranges, grapes which will act as antioxidants and hydrate the skin too.
• Spend a lot of time in an air conditioned environment? Use oil-free moisturisers.
• Make sure you carry a face wash, wet wipes and a sunscreen in your purse and use them from time to time.
