Get
Active
Enjoy the summer sunshine and take up a new outdoor sport or activity. Lindsay Lohan is big fan of going for a run on the beach. As well as toning your calves, this will burn more calories than running on other surfaces. Alternatively, Cameron Diaz prefers to stay in shape and keep cool by surfing, and Kylie Minogue is a fan of rollerblading.
Blitz
Cellulite
Even the stars are prone to cellulite. “Whenever I get cellulite, I do manic skin-brushing and drink lots of water,” says Davina McCall. She’s right to do so, as regular skin-brushing helps get rid of toxins, improves circulation and makes skin smooth.
Drinking eight glasses of water a day will also help flush out your system, leaving you feeling cleansed. ”I always start my day by drinking a bottle of water,” says Cameron Diaz.
Jazz up your
salad
Summer is the perfect time for a picnic or barbecue, but be sure to opt for healthy choices. Salads don’t have to be boring - include low-fat, low-calorie ingredients such as lentils and kidney beans, and avoid high-fat contents such as bacon and nuts. Or try edamame beans, one of Posh’s favourite pulses, which are high in protein and other nutrients.
Banish bingo
wings
If baring your arms this summer makes you quake with fear, now is the time to take action! To get sleek and sculpted arms to show off in those strappy tops, follow actress Anna Friel’s lead and concentrate on the rowing machine in the gym, Or, if you prefer outdoor exercising, step into the garden and do some press-up. These are great for toning your shoulders and tricep muscles. If you’re the competitive type, get into the Wimbledon spirit and opt for a game of tennis, which will not only improve your fitness, but also give you a great all-over body workout. It will shape and tone your upper arms, too.
Tone
those
abs
If you want a wash board tum on the beach, try regular sets of sit-ups and lower-back presses. Or try Pilates, like Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Aniston, which helps tone your middle and improve posture. “It’s great,” Jen says. “It makes me feel taller.”
