Dear Mag,
It was nice to find your magazine in the environs of Murree where we had gone for our vacations. We visit Murree every July and have a lovely time. There are so many things one can do not just in Murree but even in the galis or the surrounding areas.
Letter of the Week
Dear Mag,
I am a poet and somewhat of a writer, too. Whatever I read, I read with keen interest. I am a 32 year old mother of two boys. Amongst other magazines, I read yours too. I like serious features and recipes and tips. As far as the features in one issue or the other, I find some nice material to read which is informative and well-written. On the recipes side, I like what you dish out but I feel it could improve a lot. And, by the way, there are no tips regarding travel, general life matters and such. It would be a good thing to include these because there may be many out there who would want to read what I want to. Another thing: I logged onto your website and was very satisfied to see comprehensive work and all the magazine material available on the wesite. These days I’m enjoying your website version of Mag, but there is still room for improvement.
Madiha Shahnawaz
Dear Madiha,
Every week at MAG, we strive to bring out more of all that we can deliver. It is going well. Thanks for the appreciation. Now, for the constructive criticism. In a month or so you will find a lot of regular serious features, along with varied recipes and yes, tips: we just started work on them. As you used the word comprehensive in your letter, so would we in describing the nature of the magazine in a month or so. We will be doing more on the exclusive features front. Even in this issue, you will find that we have progressed in the right direction. And thank you so much for logging in and liking our website. The due credit will be passed on to the relevant department and, of course, we will try and better it as much as we can.

Since we come here regularly and enjoy ourselves endlessly, we know many places and stories, folklore, etc. of the area. This came as a thought while I was lounging outside our rented cottage in the outskirts of Murree - why doesn’t Mag do a feature or a travel essay on Murree - something on its history and its present; the folklore and the stories? It would be a really nice read. I hope you will take notice of my letter and do a little feature on Murree.
Pervez and family
Dear Mr. Pervez,
You have a wonderful idea that is very appropriate for a publication. Firstly, we would like to thank you for taking the interest you took in MAG. Second, indeed, it is a great idea and having been to Murree innumerable times, we, too, have heard many tales of the lore. It is a beautiful place with a rich history and a surreal past. For that matter, most hill stations enjoy such a reputation. Surely, we will do some interesting writing on Murree and its likes.

Mag People,
I get a copy of Mag here or there and I take it and leaf through it. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don’t. I am 17 years of age and I like reading. I get a whole lot of magazines, too, from various places or subscriptions. Recently, I have noticed that you guys are changing the contents and feel of Mag. Well, that’s entirely your headache but what I am interested in is music and television stuff. Hello! Where do you guys put in the satellite channels programs people? If you do, I haven’t seen them. Show me the way, will you! I know you won’t publish my letter.
Nida
Dear Nida,
What a prelude to a kill, we must say. We would like to start with the last comment of your letter, where you knowingly, confidently and so surely said that we would not print your letter. Now there’s one thing we’d really like to make clear: we do not follow the policy of practicing precision shots with our dear readers’ letters and the paper basket. Every letter is very valuable for us at MAG. It is you who make MAG the MAG it is. Your feedback and letters guide us to a great extent regarding what you require for us to print for you. Yes, there is a change in the contents and feel of MAG and we hope you like it. We are focusing on making this weekly your favourite so you don’t just pick a copy here and there but like what you get. Keep sending in your mails. We won’t play softball with your letters, rest assured.
