Zeeshan - Ek Umeed
Zeeshan is a Lahore-based vocalist who is aspiring for a career in the Paki pop scene. Recently, the singer released his debut video for a track called Ek Umeed, taken from his anticipated debut album.
Composed by Sam (Akash band), the track opens up with mellow keyboard notes, with Zeeshan taking control of the proceedings immediately with agreeably delivered alaaps. A pop rock tune, the track is the story of a guy whose hopes have been shattered with the betrayal of his girl. He sings touching verses like "Ek umeed thi meri jo toot gayi/ ek aas thi jo choot gai/ toota mera dil kuch yun/ key pyar kerne ki haan himmat na rahi” that are sure to melt the heart of anyone who has ever loved. Kudos must also go to Sam for a high standard of production in which nearly all the instruments have been played to perfection. I especially like the lead guitar solo which is very stimulating. Zeeshan impresses in his debut outing and the future surely seems bright for him. Good luck!
Rihanna - Disturbia
Will she ever take a respite? Rihanna has been on a roll since her latest album, Good Girl Gone Bad, came out. Disturbia is altogether her 10th chart topper since last year and has already cemented its place. From the early bar, the track promises to be a dance floor smasher with Rihanna sounding as confident as ever. The most attention grabbing aspect of the track is the opening riff that is inspired by Eifel 65's renowned funky track, Blue (Da Da Dee). While the track is sure to take Rihanna to new heights, it's the young producer Brian Kennedy, who seems to have benefited the max from its success. Sure winner, this one.
N*E*R*D – All Nose
After a hiatus, the trio of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shae Haley, popularly known as N*E*R*D return to the limelight with their third album, Seeing Sounds. Lead single, All Nose, finds the band carping at the club-going female crowd. The track describes the get up, habits and dumb acts of girls so hilariously that it has you in splits in no time. A high-speed hip hop beat and an aggressive, rolling stand-up bass line, the track also comes in a remixed version featuring Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco. Rock on, N*E*R*D!
Bachna Aey Haseeno - Bachna Aey Haseeno 
YRF has been suffering in recent times as far as music quality is concern. Only Jhoom Barabar Jhoom made an impact in the otherwise failed series of movies. However, the latest venture, Bachna Aey Haseeno promises to be yet another musical blockbuster and stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. The title track may be the best track ever composed by music director, Vishal Daldani. In an effort to amalgamate a brand new beat with R.D. Burman's magical touch, Daldani has hired the services of Kishore Kumar's son, Sumit Kumar to deliver the vocals. And the result turns out to be amazing as the fusion is
rare but is simply commendable. Must listen!
Ugly Aur Pagli –
Yaad Teri Aaye
Ugly Aur Pagli stars Malika Sherawat and Ranvir Sheorey and has veteran Anu Malik on composer's duty. Although, the album mainly consists of fine club tracks, the finest point on the album comes with Yaad Teri Aye. Sung by Mohit Chauhan, it is a very melodic and soothing number where the singer recalls the merry times he had with his beloved. He desperately wants her back as it's hard for him to survive. Mohit's well delivered vocals are synchronized with gentle acoustic guitar waves that touch the softer side of the listener's heart.
