Birthday Party

It's Sanjay Dutt's 49th birthday on July 29 and he's not celebrating. The blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad have left Sanjay and his wife Manyata in no mood to party.
The couple is currently in Cape Town where Sanjay is shooting for Chattur Singh.
As this was Sanjay's first birthday after marriage to Manyata, she had organised a grand celebration for him. The cast and crew of Chattur Singh, along with those of two other films currently being shot in Cape Town had also been invited for the party.

Releasing in India

Pakistani director Mehreen Jabbar's debut film "Ramchand Pakistani" is the next in a row to be released in India after the hugely popular "Khuda Kay Liye". Based on an accidental crossing of the India-Pakistan border, "Ramchand Pakistani" will open in cinemas on August 22. Nandita Das, the only Indian star in the movie, has shared screen space with Pakistani actors like Rashid Farooqui, Noman Ijaz, Maria Wasti, Navaid Jabbar and a young boy, Syed Fazal Hussain. "This movie cannot be counted as a conventional Pakistani film just because it has been made in Pakistan. This is a distinctive film with a broad appeal. It reflects the tragedy of hundreds of innocent people of either country who languish in jails of the other and the devastation for all their families," said Nandita.
An exclusive screening for Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani was held in Islamabad and the film was premiered in Karachi just days ahead of its August 1 release in the country. It has also been chosen to be showcased at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, US.
Budget of 'Ramchand Pakistani': Pak Rs.40 million ($550,000) approx.
Paresh RawalNO LAUGHING MATTER
Paresh Rawal's an unhappy man. Apparently, directors who are slaughtering the comedy genre, as well as his own selection of poor comic roles, are to be blamed for his misery. “Some of my recent roles made me want to die of shame,” Paresh said. “Last year, I was proud of Cheeni Kum. That was a classy comedy. But the rest of them were an assault on my sensibilities. So I can imagine what they did to the audience. It's very frustrating to watch intelligent directors indulge in buffoonery. And the dangerous thing is that such comedies work at the box office,” he adds. Now the actor is looking forward to Oy Lucky Lucky Oy. “It is a film by Dibakar Bannerjee, the guy who made Khosla Ka Ghosla. This film will wash away all the sins of excesses in recent times,” he says.

Shahid Kapur is said to be burying himself in work these days. According to the Hindustan Times report, Shahid has turned the spotlight on his projects in hand and says he has learnt to enjoy his own company. “These days I am spending a lot of time alone. I have even begun cooking a few meals,” says Kapur.
