Kareena In Hollywood
She has given varied reasons in the past to media for heading to Hollywood. Most of them do, anyway. "I'm not so excited about Hollywood, I'm happy doing masala films here," Kareena was quoted. Hah hah!
Now, India’s leading English daliy has hinted that she is indeed doing a Hollywood film. Kareena has signed a movie opposite Billy Zane, star of films such as "Phantom", "Mummy" and "Titanic", for an undisclosed amount.
The film is tentatively titled Chamera and will be directed by Daniel Silverman of "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Perfect Strangers" fame.
The film will be shot in North India at a 30-day schedule and Kareena would play the role of an Asian girl. The amount she has been paid is undisclosed.
"You cannot make it in Hollywood unless you come to the US," claims Hollywood expert Sheeraz Hasan. And it might be true in Kareena's case too.
She was recently spotted with Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone and rapper Sean Kingstone during the shoot of Sajid Nadiadwala's movie "Kambaqth Ishq".
Making Movies For Bebo & Sis
After "Being Cyrus", actor-producer Saif Ali Khan is all set to come together with Homi Adajania for a period film.
"But not right away. We'll be doing it next year. I'll produce a film and it's not really a period film. It would be a period film, but it won't feel like one," Saif told media.
"By that I mean it would be very contemporary in terms of actions and emotions. But in order to make those actions and emotions credible, the plot will be set in the past. Part of my character might have some Thugi traits. But I don't play a thug, as defined in the history books."
Saif's first production venture is titled "Agent Vinod" and will be directed by Sriram Raghavan. Saif will star in it with girlfriend Kareena. "I'd love to make films for Kareena and my sister Soha. But I don't have to star in all my productions. See, initially the whole idea was to give myself a chance to produce films and do the roles I wasn't being offered.
"Now when I'm in my first three productions being directed by Imtiaz Ali, Sriram Raghavan and Homi Adajania, I don't mind playing just the producer in future."
Abhi
Turns
Singer
From the looks of it, professional playback singers in Bollywood may soon find themselves without jobs since directors such as Farhan Akhtar and actors such as Abhishek Bachchan are busy exercising their vocal chords.
After the tremendous success of his debut song Ek Main Or Ek Tu in Bluffmaster. Bachchan plans to do a hip-hop album with Vishal and Shekar. So is Abhi following in his fatherís footsteps? Dad (Amitabh Bachchan) has a great voice. Mine is nowhere near it. I donít think I have the ability or talent to do all that he has done, he says. What’s next, we wonder?
An album that has the women in his family singing as well? This was bound to happen as we had suggested in our Dus Bahanae a few issues back.
