Cinderalla's Charms
by SAHAR

Petite models sashayed down the ramp wearing unconventional costumes at a fashion show organised by the Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design celebrating the Fashion Pakistan week. The glamorous event held recently in Lahore was hosted by PIFD students who endeavoured to showcase their bizarre creations with just the right quantity of glamour and style. Pretty lasses attired in long majestic gowns set the ramp on fire as they cat-walked to the rhythm of upbeat music. The full-length empire length dresses donned by slender damsels made them emulate Cinderalla's charms. The spectators at the exhilarating fashion show embarked on a splendid journey into the fictitious fairy tale world as each intricately designed ballroom dress unfolded to reveal the magic of fairy tale fantasies. The show was well received by the audience who opened the doors of their imagination and were left awestruck by the eccentricity of the collection. PIFD has undoubtedly climbed the ladder of success, from a specialist design institute it has earned its way to the top through sheer hard work and dedication. It is not only the pioneer of fashion design education in Pakistan, but is also serving to build Pakistan's image in the international world of fashion.
The eclectic collection on display left the audience mesmerised and they danced to the tune of fashion as damsels decked up in colourful costumes became a pleasant feast for the eyes. The show was different from the usual run-of-the-mill fare as it boasted a variety of outlandish dresses and eye-catching designs. It was a colourful extravaganza indeed as designers utilised almost every shade and hue on the palette to create bold and bright dresses. From bright orange to scarlet and royal blue, designers unleashed their creativity with the spectrum. All in all, the PIFD fashion show turned out to be a fascinating mélange of colour and festivity.
