Strings Shine With The Olympic Torch
Strings recently received the honour of holding the Olympic Torch on behalf of our entertainment industry, at the Torch Relaying Ceremony held in Islamabad. The band was very excited about this achievement and expressed their feelings in a brief chit chat with MAG.
How did the association with World Olympic Association come into being?
"An international electronic company which happens to be a global partner of Olympic, 2008 nominated people from Pakistan who have excelled in their respective fields for which the names were approved from China."
How is the feeling of holding the Legendary Olympic Torch?
"This is a very special day for us as we have been nominated as torch bearers for Olympic 2008. Everything pales in comparison when we see ourselves bearing the legendary Olympic torch for our country. We would like to appreciate the contribution and efforts of all the people who have made this international event a memorable one for Pakistani people."
What is the impact of the arrival of the Olympic torch in Pakistan?
“The arrival of the Olympic torch is a big honour and feat for Pakistan. The interest of Pakistani people will definitely increase and I think we should support the Pakistani teams participating in various games. We have won a lot of medals, especially, in Hockey and we are proud of our teams."

Tashan - Tashan Mein
The music of Tashan promises to be another instant hit venture from YRF. With Vishal-Shekhar in the composer's seat and a star cast of Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, its definitely a paisa wasool project.
The title track is definitely one of the best tracks on the album. The track revolves around the theme line Tashan Mein Tashan Mein which provides a dark and deep melody. And this is not the end as Piyush Mishra and Vishal resurrect life into the track transforming it into a rock ditty. The change of beat here is simply commendable and is a must-listen.
Tashan - Dil Haraa
Hooking up with Tashan, another awesome track is Dil Haara. This song is unique in the sense that it doesn't fall in any defined genre. It kicks off with Sukhwinder Singh's enthralling voice giving it a folkish feel followed by a sufi touch and finally blasting into the rock domain. The experimentations done here receive a big thumbs up and is a hit in every aspect.

Like honey is to the bee, Rihanna is to the pop music genre. The Barbados-born songstress has literally grabbed the music world by her fantastic dance and pop tunes. Her 9th consecutive hit comes in the form of Take A Bow having the immaculate team of producer Stargate and lyricist Ne-Yo by her side. It is a final goodbye to an ex lover and has the similar quality as that of Beyonce's smash hit Irreplaceable. The latter was also bestowed with the magical touch of Ne-Yo and Stargate. It's been quite a while that one last witnessed an album from Usher. His last album Confessions was a massive success which was followed by the mega hit r&b single Yeah in collaboration with Lil' John. On the latest single Love In This Club, he joins voices with Young Jeezy with Polow da John on the production front. The result is not that exciting as the fans would expect. The track has that heard it before feeling and sounds more like an Akon number. Disappointing!
