Urwa is a real busy bee
The older Hocane sister is all set to appear in the sequel to Na Maloom Afraad. Along with the sequel to this 2014-superhit-comedy, the actress has signed on three other projects; she will soon be appearing in Jhol, Rangreza and Humayun Saeed's Main Punjab Nahi Jaungi. "I have only ever done projects that I have firmly believed in. It's a coincidence, and perhaps a blessing, that four such brilliant scripts came to me around the same time and I am ecstatic that I got an opportunity to be associated with the best teams in the industry," the Udaari girl said.
Aiming at dignity
Syed Noor has cast veteran actors Shabnam and Nadeem Baig in his upcoming film, Aina 2, disclosing that the preparations to start the shootings are well underway. "Shabnam Sahiba is back and we welcome her. I met her a few times when I was on shoots in Karachi," said the director and continued, "We also met at Nadeem Sahib's home and ended up discussing Aina 2 there. We felt that this must happen.” Offering a new angle on the project, Syed Noor said, "The film shows a later stage in life and we're hoping to incorporate some flashbacks and introduce new actors." Hoping for the film to make a good impact on the audience, the director said, "We want to bring back dignified films to the Pakistan film industry so that our new generations can learn from it all.”
From TV to movie
Comedian Syed Shafaat Ali is ready to make his debut with the role a cadet in the much-talked-about film Parwaaz Hai Junoon, but he won’t stray much farther than what he is good at. According to sources, the comedian will be seen providing comic relief in the action-thriller. "I have been offered films previously as well, but I never took them seriously since I never wanted to do a project that fails to leave an impact. Since Parwaaz Hai Junoon is being made in association with the Pakistan Air Force, who last made a film almost five decades ago, I knew I had to do this," said the impressionist, who rose to fame when his videos on the imitation of political figures went viral. Shafaat will be sharing screen space with Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Aamir and Asif Raza Mir’s son, Ahad Raza Mir, among others.

The Right Note
Browsing through various cover artistes on Youtube, we came across Raj Barman. The Indian singer’s covers in his beautifully haunting, Arijit-Singh-resembling vocals will melt your heart. His rendition of the hit 90s song, Tum Mile Dil Khile, is especially worth lending your ears to.
Junaid Akram – A bibliophile’s messiah
There aren’t too many social media celebrities today that focus on doing something meaningful, like raise alarm about a social cause or try to give back to society in some way. Junaid Akram became a refreshing change in this scenario when he offered to buy books for random followers on his way to Karachi from Dubai, in order to promote reading. He asked people to comment the name of the book and author under his post, and what ensued is a number of comments by people making strange, funny and dead serious requests.

Are you ready for Paxi?
Karachi is going to host a women-exclusive taxi service that will be driven by females and will cater to women, alone. Introduced to the city on International Women’s Day, this service has been designed keeping the safety of women in mind since women face a lot of difficulties while travelling in public transports with harassment being the most common issue. Paxi Pakistan is starting with 10 drivers for now, referred to as ‘pilots’, but intend to expand to Lahore and Islamabad in the next three to four months followed by other parts of the country.
