Malala Yousafzai is going to Oxford University after acing her A-Level exams. The 20-year-old, who is the youngest person to win a Nobel Prize at the age of 17, revealed that she had been accepted on to a Philosophy, Politics and Economics course earlier this week. She required three As after being given a conditional offer earlier this year. She wrote on Twitter: ‘So excited to go to Oxford!! Well done to all A-level students – the hardest year. Best wishes for life ahead!’
It was the first time the A*-A pass rate has risen since 2011 and came after changes were made to the qualifications. The highest grades awarded in 13 subjects have been reformed, with a move away from coursework and modular exams throughout the course, making them more challenging for students.
