Shiraz Uppal, born on 29th January, is a musician, singer and songwiter. When he was 16, Shiraz contemplated joining the army because his father forbade him from singing covers in a band called Wet Metal. His father, a pilot in the Pakistan Air Force, wanted Shiraz to become an educated and successful person in life. To respect his fathers wishes, Shiraz completed his MBA and then pursued music. His source of inspiration is A.R. Rahman who started out as his guru but has now become a good friend. "I have been to his studios, worked with him a couple of times and that became a great learning opportunity. Every time I record something new, I send it to him for his feedback. His last remark on Mann Ja Ve was "Awesome song, giant leap in production," he explains.
