Clown contouring Half knot up-do Baking & micro strobing Multi-masking Pastel and rainbow hair

Clown contouring
This exaggerated method of applying highlight, shadow, and blush may make you look like a circus performer because it includes so many colourful face paints, but appears flawless when blended. A lot of make-up artists were bashed online for using this method, yet they continued in their stride to bring us exciting new trends, and we are glad to see their commitment. Can we do without this trend? Definitely. Would this save us from buying yet another product? Certainly. Nevertheless, this transformation from an emoji-like face to glowing complexion shook things up and gave us something intriguing to practice.

Half knot up-do
One might never be able to point out what exactly it was that made women go crazy over this hair style. Of course, it was nice to look at it and something to try. As soon as the first few snaps of women wearing their stresses in this particular manner hit the internet, there was no other hair style you’d see anywhere. Street style-endorsing fashionistas, celebrities, fashion enthusiasts, all promoted what is also often referred to as ‘man bun’. Not that we are complaining; it was a fun-to-wear hair style while the trend lasted.

Baking & micro strobing
The one thing 2016 taught us is that lesser than less is much, much more. Heavy contouring gave way to subtle strobing, which in turn led to an even more zoned-in version of the highlighting technique. Dot your creamy illuminator on the tip of your nose, swipe it from only the highest point of your cheekbone up to the edge of the brow bone in a half-moon motion, and let those selfies shine without looking like a disco ball.

Multi-masking
Why wait to apply all the masks separately when you can do it together? Surely, it is time consuming to treat your nose, cheeks and other areas with different scrubs and masks one by one. This is not how the modern woman rolls. It is funny how no one ever bothered with the formula before, but we are obviously glad someone finally brought it to our attention.

Pastel and rainbow hair
This was a refreshing change from all those usual red and yellow-toned hair colours that women are obsessed with. Pastel and rainbow hair was one of those trends that you must try when they are doing rounds and get the fun out of it. Surprisingly, lots of girls were able to pull this off, too.
