The Worst Hollywood Rip-Offs by Bollywood
You’re better off watching the English originals of these bad copycat films

Movie: God Tussi Great Ho

God Tussi Great HoRipped off from: BRUCE ALMIGHTY
Get this: Salman Khan is the television producer to Jim Carrey’s unlucky TV correspondent character, who blames God for everything he doesn’t have. So, one fine day, the almighty (Amitabh Bachchan does a half-hearted Morgan Freeman) gives him complete reign over the universe. Of course, the rest is hell. Writer-director Rumy Jaffrey denies the ‘inspiration’, and the bad execution and dialogues almost made us do a rethink too. Beats us how you can go so horribly wrong with a tailor-made Jim Carrey comedy.

Movie: Welcome
WelcomeRipped off from: MICKEY BLUE EYES
Get this: Director Anees Bazmee’s gangster comedy is like a collage of scenes from the Hollywood flick about milksop Hugh Grant marrying into the mafia. The gaps in logic (and there are many) are filled with songs and slapstick babble. Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar carry the film on their shoulders, with their flair for comedy and fine performances.

Movie: Kyaa Kool Hai Hum
Kia Kool Hai HumRipped off from: THE MONSTER
Get this: “There’s so little originality left in our films” is Ekta Kapoor’s excuse for lifting Italian filmmaker Roberto Benigni’s raunchy tale of a man mistaken for a perverted serial killer because of his penchant for being caught in compromising situations. While Isha Koppikar did a decent job as the sexy undercover cop, crass dialogues, crude direction and a dull leading man (Tusshar Kapoor) do not a good movie make.n
