INTERNATIONAL FRONT: ISHQ BECTOR'S
DAKU DADDY

Daku DaddyCanadian born Ishq Bector is the latest sensation to have hit the hip-hop market. His album, Daku Daddy, is full of humour, thrills and masti and is already a surefire hit with the masses. The title track is far more amusing than your expectations. It is a dialogue between a street lover and a cruel daddy, who is not letting his gorgeous daughter (Hrishita Bhatt) go out with him. And the daddy is none other than Shakti Kapoor. So the party kicks off with the trademark 'Aaaooww' by Shakti and his restrictions imposed on Hrishita, who in sheer desperation utters, "Tum daku ho key daddy". Ishq Bector takes on Shakti in the following lines: "Kyun kia mere pyar ko qaidi/ goli maroon tujhe daku daddy/ ab mein bataoonga tujhe/ naach nachaoonga tujhe" (why did you imprison my love, I’ll kill you cruel father/ now I will teach you a lesson). The enthusiastic chorus advises the singer on ways of getting his girl back while the gloomy girl says after each part, "Mera babu hai Gabbar Singh sa daku, me kia karoon". Musically, it follows a speedy hip hop beat that is sure to make you stand up and hit the dance floor. I can't stop laughing after listening to this! Hear it and forget your worries!

UNDERGROUND BAND OF THE WEEK: AARAIZ
AaraizAaraiz is a Persian word which means leaders. The band's name was coined with the idea of leading the Pakistani music industry with a unique style and approach towards music. Every musician in the band grew with a different taste of music but all do share mutual inspirations.
The band's current lineup include Qazi Sufian Javed on vocals, Nabeel Amjad on lead guitars, Fahad Saeed on rhythms, Tabbish Mehmood on drums and Nauman Ali on bass, and has so far gathered 50 gigs under its belt, all of them in Islamabad. The tight sound and versatility in playing has been the basis of their success - not to forget that Aaraiz won the battle of bands Competition at NUML University. The event comprised of more than 8 bands from
Islamabad, whereas Sarmad Ghafoor, Samir Shami and Haroon were the judges. Aaraiz has composed about 16 original songs and have recorded three, namely Wajood, Nafs and Talaash by themselves, and one song Arzoo at Sarmad Ghafoor's studio. Arzoo's video has been completed
and is being played on various music channels these days. Aaraiz plans to record their whole album at Sarmad Ghafoor's studio and intend to re-record their previous songs as their production was just an experiment.

BORDER HOPPING:
GHULAM ALI & ASHA BHOSLE COLLOBORATE ON THE LATEST
ALBUM, GENERATIONS

It's yet another fusion of music in the form of a magical combination of legends, Ghulam Ali and the ever alluring, Asha Bhosle.
Composed by Amir Ali, Ghulam Ali's son, Generations is a dreamy album with heart wrenching lyrics. Regarding her team up with Ghulam Ali and decades long musical
relations, Asha Bhosle says, "I began my career in 1943. Ghulam Ali began his musical journey after mine and his son, Aamir, is just
starting his. There are 3 generations in this album. Soon, the artistes of my generation will take their place in the annals of time. What will remain for future generations is their legacy and dedicated work in musical works like this album. I hope that past, present and future generations appreciate Generations."
Ghulam Ali also expressed his feelings regarding the launch of the venture. He said, "I wonder how she managed to do so much as an artiste. What Asha Bhosle has achieved in one lifetime is almost like a dream come true for any performer. I have the honour and pleasure of performing with her and always look forward to our musical journey together.” The album features 12 captivating numbers including ghazals such as Dil Se and Dil Bichannese, flute and sarod influenced love track, Socho Main Gum Kyun Ho and Naina Re, etc.

Is There Any Love for Jacko's Glove?
Micheal JacksonThe gloves are off. And hopefully, up for making some major cash. Possibly hurting from last month's out-of-court settlement with his Bahraini sheikh BFF, Michael Jackson is unloading a veritable pop-culture time capsule next spring, auctioning off more than 2,000 personal items, including the gates leading to Neverland Ranch (the tales they could tell), life-size statues from Jackson's personal art collection and, most anticipated of all, the infamous glitter glove as first donned in the video for 1983's Billie Jean. The items will be available through Julien's Auctions for just five days, beginning April 21, and bidders can stake their claim either online or in person. Portions of the proceeds from the King of Pop's paraphernalia will go toward MusiCares, the charity founded by the Recording Academy. The rest will go to the charity that is Jackson himself.
