We first knew Rubab as the ravishing runway sensation who was sure to be featured in all the top fashion dos. Be it in Pakistan, or on foreign shores, you could be certain of the girl being a part of the fashion activity. Having been around for quite some time, Rubab finally decided to branch out and do something other than modeling. And what could be better than pampering women in general and models in particular.
And so we were introduced to Rubab, the entrepreneur. It’s been a year and a half since she opened the doors of her salon to style savvy ladies. These days you will find her more at the salon than at fashion shows for she realizes that, “to make a business flourish you have to give it your 100 percent and I am focusing on my salon currently. Of course, I’m modeling, that goes without saying, but I’m spending more time at the salon than elsewhere.”
Rubab feels that now is the time to get into acting as well. “Initially I used to get a lot of offers but I would turn them down as I did not have the time, neither the mind to act. But now I can devote time to acting and I would certainly take on a good offer if and when it comes my way,” she discloses.
We ask this model, entrepreneur and aspiring actor to share her style secrets with our readers.
What's your style code?
It can be anything… from casual to stylish, elegant to funky. It depends on my mood.
What do you wear on off-days?
Track pajamas and a tee.
Who's your style inspiration?
No one… I have a style all my own, I have never copied anyone.
What's your formal going-out look?
I keep in mind the occasion I’m dressing up for. If it is a fashion event then obviously I will dress up accordingly. But if I am going out with my family then I would choose different attire. I love saris.
What's your fave hair style?
I love curly hair but I have extremely straight and silky hair. We’re so made up in normal life that I try to stay simple.
Are you high maintenance?
Yes, kapray, jootay, bag… all these things are very important for me. I love to decorate my home also.
What's your one beauty/style essential?
My watch, my bag and my sun shades.
Do you have a signature scent?
I like strong fragrances.
How do you keep your body buff?
My figure is God gifted, I’ve always been slim. But I have started to go for a walk now, it really invigorates me.
Any style blunders you want to reveal?
I’ve always been a careful dresser. I’ve never gone overboard in anything.
What's the most expensive item in your wardrobe?
All my things are expensive but it’s got to be my sun shades, shoes and bags.
Which item from your wardrobe do you love the most?
That’s a very difficult question. I love everything that’s in my wardrobe because I keep on buying a lot of new things all the time.
