Purple Reign

Earlier in the year, purple reached fever pitch.

Industry’s fashionable flock championed the take on purple, from sporting a tracksuit in the hue or choosing a cocktail gown. Fast forward to the cooler months, now, the colour is permeating festive wear too. Where we once went reaching for the vibrant pinks and reds for wedding celebrations, now we're shifting preference to purple. The major plus?

This feminine hue is amenable for every weddings festivity. If you’re the bride and it’s your mehendi, consider wearing a purple lehenga choli with pink and gold accents in it. With its heavily embellished lehenga skirt, the creation will be perfect to dance the night away. It’s also a good option for brides who’d like to take baby steps into the trend. Pair it with drop earrings and tikka to complete the look.

As for your baraat look, you don’t need to go all out on purple. To add a traditional touch to your modern bridal wear, opt for a golden knee length heavily embellished shirt paired with a purple sharara and finish it off with a purple dupatta over your head.

For your valima reception, look to the off-shoulder purple saree that’s drenched in sequins and embroidery. This look will add a dose of drama to your wedding and what’s a wedding without some drama? If this look is too ultra-mod for you, yet you still want to stick to a look that's more contemporary for your ceremony, we’ll suggest you go for a millennial purple lehenga choli with unconventional cuts and silhouettes. A ruffled and embellished wedding wear is a good pick for a formal reception. Complement all your dresses with statement jewelries and you’ll be reigning your purple themed wedding.
