28 November, 1964 – NASA launched Mariner 4

The first spacecraft to make a flyby of Mars, the spacecraft was the first one to send images of a planet back to Earth.


29 November, 1899 – FC Barcelona was founded

The popular football (soccer) club was founded by footballer Hans Gamper. Informally known as Barça, the club is thought to be one of the top five richest football clubs in the world.


30 November, 1982 – Michael Jackson’s Thriller was released worldwide

Thought to be the best selling album of all time, the album, which had nine tracks, won eight Grammy Awards, including the award for Album of the Year in 1984.


01 December, 1918 – Kingdom of Iceland was established

The Kingdom of Iceland was established with the signing of the Act of Union with Denmark. The act recognised Iceland as a sovereign state under a common monarch with Denmark.


02 December, 1988 – Benazir Bhutto was sworn in as Prime Minister

Benazir Bhutto takes office as Pakistan's Prime Minister, becoming the first woman PM of Pakistan.


03 December, 1927 – First Laurel & Hardy movie was released

Putting Pants on Philip, a short silent film starring the comedy duo marked the beginning of a long partnership.


04 December, 1791 – First Sunday paper was published

The Observer, a British newspaper became the first newspaper in the world to be published and read on a Sunday.
