K-dramas always have a lighthearted, romantic element to them. It isn’t often when we see the lightness filtered throughout the show, even during its dramatic moments. We’re introduced to six single people in their late 20s or early 30s. Park Jae-won (Ji Chang-wook), an architect; Lee Eun-oh (Kim Ji-won), a marketer; Choi Kyung-joon (Kim Min-seok), also an architect; Suh Rin-yi (So Joo-yeon), Jill of all trades (i.e. unemployed); Kang Geon (Ryu Kyung-soo), a novelist; and Oh Sun-young (Han Ji-eun), a gym teacher. Each of them has been burned on the dating scene in one way or another. We flash back to a year ago; Jae-won flies to a northern beach town in order to spend a month surfing and living on a trailer on the beach. Eun-oh, helping out her friend Ra-Ra (Park Jin-joo), picks him up. They quickly fall for each other. At Ra-Ra’s restaurant, the two of them reach for each other during a game and fireworks literally go off. As the other singletons find out about their story, they roll their eyes at that romantic coincidence. The main thrust of the show is going to be the romance between Jae-won and Eun-oh, with the other four singletons starting relationships of their own. And it feels like Jae-won and Eun-oh will be the Ross and Rachel of this group.
