Sidra Batool - The Golden Girl

Utterly feminine and extremely elegant, Sidra Batool is one of the promising faces in our drama industry. Barely a few dramas old, the charming and charismatic style icon is being touted as a skillful actress. A diva in her own right, the versatile star feels fortunate to have some powerful dramas in her kitty. After her small screen debut with Daagh as Uroosa alongside actors like Fahad Mustafa, Firdous Jamal, Yasra Rizvi, she gained popularity and appreciation for her spectacular performance as Jannat in Yeh Zindagi Hai. She made her big screen debut with a romantic comedy film, Halla Gulla. She was also seen in the critically acclaimed film Bin Roye in a supporting role alongside Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan. Starting with Daagh and Ishq Hamari Galiyun Main to Parvarish and Dil Ka Kia Rung Karun, Sidra has had a progressive career graph. She took a career gap in 2017 after her marriage but is now back on TV with her recently released drama Umeed and is all set to climb the ladder of success with her remarkable acting skills.

Here, the starlet is giving us some major style inspiration for the festive season. When it comes to desi wardrobe staples, a heavily embellished kurti is a go-to for many. While those are undoubtedly popular amongst the fashion set, there’s another silhouette and style that hit the scene again in a noteworthy way this year and is holding strong. We’re talking about the floor sweeping A-line silhouette. We’re particularly into this trend because it not only adds that touch of sophistication to even the simplest of looks, but it also simultaneously brings an especially trend-forward element as well. But this year, the silhouette is being styled slightly different.

Instead of going all out on the entire outfit, designers are keeping the embroidery and embellishments limited to the sleeves and the bodice.

Another trend that is making a comeback especially for the festive wear is long ankle kurtis. These kurtis can be paired with cigarette pants or even palazzos or in the case of a wedding you can even wear it with a sharara.

Glittery garments are also having a major moment this year. Yes, it’s going to be sequins, sequins and more sequins everywhere. There’s no denying that fashion trends are seasonal. Which brings us to our point: Much like florals being associated with spring, sequins are synonymous with the festive period. Sequins are to garments what sprinkles are to ice cream.

They add flavour, texture, and sparkle so extreme, there’s rarely a need to accessorise when it comes to sequined garments. Designers have been utilising sequins with precision this year, so the major rule on how to wear them this season is to just dip your toe in – there's no need for a full sequin outfit (unless you want to, of course). So try to incorporate sequins within your outfit, maybe on the bodice or over the sleeves.
