Mashal Khan - A sneak peek into the fashionistas lookbook

Every actor who succeeds in the tough world of entertainment had to start from somewhere. Some start as radio jockeys, some as singers, while most start as theatre artists. There are many stars in our industry that are synonymous with the bright lights of theatre. Actress and model Mashal Khan has become a household name since her breakthrough role in Suno Chanda, however, prior to this she had a long and successful career in theatre. The Thora Sa Haq star landed her prime time roles due in part to her proven acting prowess in the theatre. Khan’s impressive acting skills prove that the importance of theatrical experience is undeniable on the road to becoming an honest and versatile actor. It provides the cornerstones of an artists’ craft and provides lessons that are unavailable on a film set, but imperative.

There are no cuts and retakes when it comes to theatre. Performing live in front of an audience is a different experience altogether. Theatre paved the way for Khan who owes her poise, intelligence and resilience to her years on the stage.

Talking about how it all began for her in an exclusive conversation with MAG, she says, “Well, I actually come from theatre. I was 16 and was at the gym with a friend who introduced me to her cousin. She was directing a play and his female lead had fallen extremely ill, so she was looking for someone who could act and sing. I guess it was fate.” But there’s a lot more to her than her awe-inspiring acting skills: she is an all-around charmer. She always manages to capture our attention with her stunning fashion choices.

Whether it's a classic red carpet style or a bolder, unique outfit worn for a night on the town, the woman is without a doubt one of a kind fashionista. Here, we take a look at some of her outfits that will up the style quotient for years to come.

Her first outfit is a truly timeless piece: pishwas. Perfect for any occasion, this women’s suit can work wonders when styled right. No wonder, the Pakistani entertainment fraternity are routinely seen in an array of these. Whether it’s shaadi, engagement, or just a small family occasion, investing in an ornate pishwas can be the best sartorial decision you make this festive season.

The highlight of this pishwas is that it is in net fabric with lacework and mirrorwork. Mashal flaunts this perfect ethnic look by pairing her red pishwas with jhumkas and strappy sandals. But what captured our attention is the fine mirrorwork embroidery. It adds a bit of bling to the otherwise unembellished outfit. Another major trend that the actress is working here is the ivory colour trend. With pastel hues taking over the fashion scene, the classic ivory is also having a major moment and it’s definitely something that you cannot ignore. The ivory colour trend is super royal and a statement by itself. So no matter what outfit you wish to flaunt this festive season, ivory colour is sure to leave a lasting impression.

The pale neutral shade can be easily dressed up or dressed down at any occasion. Nothing can be too much on the subtle colour like ivory. Be it heavy embroidery, outfit layers, accessorising or mixing fabrics, textures and colours with the neutral shade can never be too much. From stylish gowns, contemporary clothing, lehengas, sarees, anarkalis and almost every other outfit looks gorgeous in the royal colour.
