Lenovo announced its ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 will have an August launch

TECH NEWS

ThinkPad power users have a new option in Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4. The new 16-inch workstation will be available this upcoming August for a starting price of $2,149. The X1 Extreme Gen 4 is powered by Intel’s latest 11th Gen processors, up to a Core i9 H-Series chip with vPro. It can also be configured with up to a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, 64GB of RAM, two 2TB SSDs, a 90Wh battery, and optional 5G support. The screen is 16:10 and Lenovo claims it can reach up to 600 nits of brightness. The X1 Extreme Gen 3 had an OLED option, but OLED wasn’t mentioned in this announcement. Finally, there’s a new FHD webcam, along with the ThinkPad line’s signature camera shutter. There are also two AMD Ryzen 5000-powered ThinkPads coming: the ThinkPad L13 Gen 2 and the convertible L13 Yoga Gen 2. These models start at $799 and $999, respectively. The L13 Yoga Gen 2 is Lenovo’s first AMD-powered Windows 10 convertible, and it comes with an optional integrated pen.

Motorola just launched its new Moto G Stylus 5g phone

Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G is a phone with a built-in stylus and 5G. It’s a slightly upgraded version of the 4G-only, 2021-edition Moto G Stylus. The Stylus 5G includes a few more hardware upgrades in addition to 5G connectivity, including a bigger battery and a newer Snapdragon 480 processor. The rear camera array is identical with the exception of a different macro sensor, its 6.8-inch screen is the same, and overall dimensions are similar. At $399, it sits between the $279 G Stylus and the $1,000 Galaxy Note 20 but it doesn’t go far enough to clearly offer more than the budget-friendlier version. It’s a 1080p LCD panel that’s just fine – lacking the nice contrast of OLEDs but still usable in bright daylight conditions. Battery life is 5,000mAh cell. The capacitive stylus is spring-loaded into the phone’s lower right corner and automatically brings up a quick menu of options when you remove it. Stylus 5G offers three rear cameras – a 48-megapixel f/1.7 standard wide, 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide, and a 5-megapixel macro – along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor and 16-megapixel selfie camera.
