Mehar Bano In Urban Chic

Supporting performances are often where a movie’s or drama’s gold is to be found. Mostly they happen unheralded and unacknowledged, discreetly lending texture and sinew to a film. The leading players need outstanding support if their own performances are to be coherent, and the stars can’t do their job without very intelligent but basically unassuming work from the players further down the bill. All great actors know this – and perhaps, in their heart, fear being upstaged, especially by the very old or the very young. One such young starlet is actress, model and dancer, Mehar Bano.

The talent, the charm, the beauty and the humour, which Mehar Bano exudes in her everyday life, also carries through to her performances both on-screen and on the dance floor. She has so very quickly established herself as one of Pakistan’s rising stars and one of the most sought-after dancers too.

Mehar Bano has had a hell of a career. She doesn’t come from a showbiz family so she always had to carve her own path and unravel her way in the entertainment industry. She bagged a huge lead at just 18, alongside Fahad Mustafa in a social drama, Daagh. Her hard work and determination earned her a nomination for Best Actress at Lux Style Awards soon after her big debut.

She also played the part of Batool in 2018’s biggest hit, Balaa and Anoushay in 2019’s most watched drama, Mere Paas Tum Ho. Her other appearances include Mor Mahal, Lashkara, and Ghalati. She also made her debut on the big screen in a

supporting role in 2018’s Motorcycle Girl. These days, the actress is seen in Pakistan’s most talked about web series, Churails, which revolves around Karachi's secret detectives whose mission is to expose the city's unfaithful, elite husbands.

Here, we are taking notes from Mehar Bano on urban chic fashion. We can’t help but swoon over how gorgeous these dresses are. They are just the right amount of ethnic and modern. At a time when investing in clothing that is versatile and made to last seems so important, the actress is giving us some major inspiration for a no-fail, no-fuss fashion and making minimalist style more attractive than ever with elegant silhouettes and colours.

If life is feeling a bit dull, add some sparkle with the right style choices. This season was bright and blingy with sequins donned by celebrities on the red carpet and the festive circuit. But what captured our attention was the age-old mirror work making its way into the fashion arena. We have all flaunted mirror work at some point in our lives.

They may have taken a backseat in our wardrobe, but are surely making a comeback and this time, it’s not just traditional lehengas and cholis that have mirror work on them. Even your every day kurtis can have a bit of bling. It indeed is back with a bang and we have our eyes on it. We see very contemporary variations of this craft on contemporary outfits albeit in a more dapper avatar.

Embroidered motifs are also very much alive and well. They look impeccable especially when they are done on kurtis and kameez. Intricate embroidery, thread work, zardosi embroidery bring out the beauty of the motifs and make a lasting

statement. Flaunt the whole huge motif on the back of your blouse or make it a part of the embroidery, the gorgeous trend will look extremely elegant and beautiful at any age and occasion. Lehenga blouses or saree blouses or even motifs embellished jackets look fabulous. And when they are forever trending, who wouldn’t want to invest in such a versatile embroidered piece?

Last but oh, so not the least, based on these outfits, the season's fashion palette is painted in essential neutrals, soft pinks, and gradients of green, as well as the tried-and-true: head-to-toe black. Wearable and chic, these colours are set to dominate the spectrum come fall. Now is the perfect time to take inspiration and update your wardrobe with these classic pieces.
