A fierce beauty look for a dinner date or girls' night out doesn't have to involve a vampy lipstick colour. Sometimes, all you need to stun is a deep smoky eye, flawless complexion, and a perfect pout. Below, we show off our favourite evening look, which consists of those basic elements. Here is how you can replicate Syra Yousuf’s take on fierce glam makeup. Read on:

Step # 1: Prep it up

In terms of makeup, acing your face should be your first order of business before you move on to your lip makeup and eye makeup. For that, make sure you cleanse, tone and moisturise your face. It’s also crucial to apply a face primer. Using a primer is one of the best things you can do when it comes to applying makeup. Primers can help to give you an even canvas to work on, as it can help smooth lines.

Step # 2: Conceal the deal

Once you’re done prepping, finish the cover up process by applying a flesh-toned concealer, like on top. Use an applicator to blend and buff the concealer into your skin.

Step # 3: Get your foundation on

Your face wouldn’t be complete without a little foundation! There are so many different kinds of foundation out there, so choose one that suits your needs. For example, if you have oily skin, you may want to consider using a matte (a.k.a. non-shiny) finish foundation. On the other hand, if you have dry skin, a radiant finish foundation might be a better option for you. Whichever foundation you choose, one of the best ways to apply it is with a makeup blender.

Step # 4: Make you blush

Next up: Fake a rosy tone by applying a little blush. When it comes to blush, apply some to the apples of your cheeks – and remember to smile while doing so!

Step # 5: Get smokey

Done with your face? Now, it’s time to move on to applying eye makeup. For a fierce smokey eye look like Syra’s, start by applying a mid-tone shadow all over the lid. Opt for greys, browns or heathers to create a subtle smokey base. Apply a liner along the lash line, making sure you're coating and depositing colour between the lashes to instantly pop the eye. Opt for a gel formula for easy application that won't budge all night! Layer a dark tone shadow like espresso, charcoal or smoke over the liner, blending halfway up the lid and into the lid shadow. Apply along the lower lash line by softly pressing the brush on to the root of the lower lashes. Then smudge out with fingers for a smokier finish. The final step in your eye makeup application routine? That should be mascara!

Step # 6: Pucker up!

Once you’re done with your eyes, go ahead and swipe on your lipstick. And as a general rule of thumb, light eyes – dark lips, dark eyes – light lips; opt for a shade in nude pink. That way your pout is sure to look stunning.

Step # 7: Set it all together

Congratulations! You’ve officially finished all of the steps in your makeup routine. Now, help set your look by spritzing on a setting spray. To use, shake well and hold the bottle eight to 10 inches away from your face. Close your eyes and spray it four to six times in an X and T motion. And there you have it!
