Short film ‘House No. 242’ speaks the inconvenient truth about child abuse

The issue of child abuse is a serious social problem in and around the world. It requires proper exposure and education that would make the public aware of the danger of such issues. As movies have a wide reach, it is beneficial if these kinds of issues are addressed in them. In Pakistan, a few movies have been made which have engaged with child abuse headlong or have mentioned it in the storyline. Several aspects of these criminal offenses have been highlighted through such films. Yet another film tackling the heinous crime is the recently released short film House No. 242. The film revolves around a woman meeting her childhood self who was abused by someone close to her and upon telling her mother about it, she was told to remain silent on the issue. The film addresses a very important message of supporting and listening to your child when they upon up to you. House No. 242 stars Hira Tareen, Saad Qureshi, Annie Zaidi and child star, Angel.
