Geri Halliwell thanked Dua Lipa for bringing back her iconic Union Jack look to BRITs

If Dua Lipa is a Spice Girls wannabe, she must be levitating over this news. Geri Halliwell, best known as Ginger Spice, sent Dua a special shoutout on Instagram after the New Rules star paid homage to her legendary 1997 Union Jack outfit. At the 2021 BRIT Awards, Dua gave a cheeky nod to the British show by donning a Union Jack jacket and miniskirt by Vivienne Westwood, during her performance. Of course, Geri famously wore a minidress with the same flag print to the BRIT Awards nearly 25 years ago. Geri then, shared a throwback of her nostalgic ensemble with an inspiring message about owning your sense of style. "This dress is a reminder to be yourself. 24 years ago I had an idea-to wear a Union Jack to celebrate The Brit Awards. Despite the doubts, I wore it anyway." She continued by thanking Dua for her sartorial tribute, saying, "All these years later to see it worn by a fellow sister is so special." Dua and the Spice Girls each have five BRIT trophies now.

The Friends reunion special now has a premiere date along with a teaser

HBO Max just announced that we'll get to witness this epic event and there's even a brief but weirdly emotional teaser to go along with the reveal. It's just footage of the cast walking together from behind with a slowed down version of the theme song. The special, which reunites stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry in the show's original soundstage on the Warner Bros studio lot, was supposed to be filmed in time for HBO Max's launch in May 2020, but obviously the universe had other plans and the global pandemic delayed the special for over a year. It finally filmed in April, and now we're just weeks away from being able to actually watch what the streaming platform calls, "a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show." The event is titled Friends: The Reunion and it will feature a bunch of special guests, which confusingly also includes David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, Lady Gaga, Malala Yousafzai and others.
