Fifteen Love
Drama

The antagonistic relationship between tennis instructor Glenn Lapthorn and his former student Justine Pearce (promising newcomer Ella Lily Hyland) is the subject of this dark thriller starring Aidan Turner. Lapthorn guided Pearce to the brink of French Open success when she was just 17 years old. However, an injury put an end to her career, though there was still some doubt that there was more to her early departure than that. Pearce discovers that Lapthorn is reentering her life, and a story of alleged abuse begins to circulate. The bewilderment and agony of gaslighting and exploitation are well-communicated by both leads.

Kohrra
Thriller

Some of the clichés in this Indian thriller will be recognisable to viewers of criminal procedurals around the world: two cops with chaotic personal lives and unconventional investigative techniques must contend with unyielding superiors in order to solve a murder. A bridegroom was the victim, who was assassinated in the Punjab countryside two days before his wedding. A little research reveals that the marriage was prearranged and that he resided abroad. This is a passable, if theatrical, piece of mystery but is by no means a drama that breaks new ground. Starring are Suvinder Vicky and Barun Sobti.

Unknown: Cave of Bones
Documentary

A documentary examining what is allegedly the oldest cemetery in the world, located in South Africa. The fact that the bones were not human suggests that other ape-like animals may have been performing comparable practises long before humans established burial customs. This finding obviously has significant ramifications for both evolutionary theory and our comprehension of animal behaviours. The excavation is carried out by paleoanthropologist Lee Berger, who experiences significant physical suffering when entering a cave that is rarely visited by anyone.

ITVX Kids
Animation

The ITV streaming service is introducing a children's division just in time for the summer break, featuring a mix of classic series (Teletubbies, Bob the Builder, Sooty) and recent productions. These include the bizarre-sounding Lego Dreamzzz, in which a young boy constructs structures out of plastic bricks to protect the real world from the monsters he encounters in his dreams, and The Gamers 2037, in which three friends are stranded in a virtual reality environment and must complete the game to return to reality.

The Bear
TV Series

The Original Beef is oddly and unsettlingly quiet when the doors swing open once more. The crew is getting ready to suddenly reopen after finding Mikey's money, but there's a storm on the horizon. Carmy (the excellent Jeremy Allen White) has his sights set on Michelin stars and has persuaded his coworkers to have similar lofty goals. What happens next is just as frantic as season one, but with a winningly optimistic tone as the restaurant's scruffy gang starts to race against an impossibly tight deadline. The writing is razor-sharp, the performances are pitch-perfect, and the episode lengths are like a tasting platter, leaving you wanting more. Delicious.
