A pop of pink is a great way to breathe some life into your makeup routine, especially when you fully commit and go with a pink monochromatic makeup look. It’s flushed, it’s fresh and it’s right on the mark for any season, especially the warm weather months. The only thing that’s left to decide on is what shade of pink you’ll choose, and with so many options, like rosy pink, baby pink, fuschia, deep berry-pink and more, the odds of finding the right one to suit your skin tone are in your favour.

How to create a baby pink monochromatic makeup look

Rocking an all-over pink makeup look is not as hard as it may seem. Plus, it’s a great colour to help brighten up your face and give you a natural-looking flush under the sun. Ahead, check out this step-by-step tutorial to create this pretty makeup look.

Step 1. Find the Right Shade of Pink for Your Skin Tone

Start by choosing a shade of pink that complements your skin tone and more specifically, your undertones. If you have cool undertones, look for shades of pink with blue tones like baby pink or berry pink. If you have warm undertones, look for shades with yellow and peach undertones like coral and magenta. If you have neutral undertones, you’re lucky because you have double the choices that can suit your skin tone.

Next is hue, you’ll want to make sure to choose a colour that flatters your skin tone. The deeper your skin tone, the more vibrant and deep your pink hue should be to avoid looking washed out. Light to medium skin tones can opt for rose, baby pink and coral pink shades to warm up the complexion.

Step 2. Apply Your Base Makeup

Lay down a flawless base for your pink makeup look with the L’Oréal Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Foundation. Be sure to apply your foundation with a makeup sponge, using rolling and dabbing motions for seamless coverage. If you prefer powder foundation, opt for any that you like which comes with a sponge applicator that you can use to get an even and natural-looking finish.

If you want to add some pink undertones to your complexion, mix your concealer with a liquid blush. Use a sponge or a blending brush to lightly dab the mixture under your eyes.

Step 3. Create a Pink Eyeshadow Look

Monochromatic makeup generally features a simple eyeshadow look, so you’ll only need to colour in your lids with one hue. Grab a fluffy eyeshadow brush and choose your favourite pink hue from the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Pocket Palette Eyeshadow in Avenue Des Roses. Be sure to sweep the colour all over your eyelids, into the crease, and all over the lids to create a balanced eye makeup look. It should look like one seamless wash of pink across your eyelids when you’re finished.

Step 4. Coat Your Lashes with Mascara

Curl your lashes and swipe on a few coats of the L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Instant Lift Washable Mascara for lift and definition. This viral mascara has a double-sided brush that makes it great for lifting the lashes and enhancing volume without making them appear clumpy.

Step 5. Add Colour to Your Cheeks

Sweep blush onto the apples of your cheeks to give your face some extra colour. For a natural finish, you’ll want the blush to look soft and diffused like the Shu Uemura Fresh Cushion Blush. Warm up your skin tone with a bronzer of your choice (we like Urban Decay Naked Flushed). Apply this under your cheekbones and along your temples and jawline.

Step 6. Add Colour to Your Lips

When it comes to picking out a lip colour to complete your monochromatic makeup look, opt for a sheer wash of pink to bring your look together without taking away from your eyes or cheeks.
