Much deserved

In a historic achievement for Pakistani cinema, Bilal Lashari’s The Legend of Maula Jatt (TLoMJ) has been nominated for a Taurus World Stunt Award in the prestigious ‘Best Fight’ category. The film’s final fight scene between Fawad Khan’s Maula Jatt and Hamza Ali Abbasi’s Noorie Natt, is set to compete against renowned Hollywood productions, including the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once and the action-packed thriller The Gray Man. The Taurus World Stunt Awards, an annual event held in Los Angeles, celebrates the outstanding achievements of stunt performers in the world of cinema. The ‘Best Fight’ category has previously honoured acclaimed titles such as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Kingsman, Fast & Furious 6, Inception, and The Avengers, among others. The action stunts in TLoMJ were masterfully coordinated by Ian Van Temperley, a veteran with over 30 years of experience in the global film and television industry. His expertise played a pivotal role in bringing the film’s gripping action sequences to life. The Legend of Maula Jatt has left an indelible mark on Pakistani cinema since its release last year, becoming the highest-grossing film in Pakistan’s cinematic history.
