Lindsay began reading:

I would like to begin my speech by asking this question that why is the island Octaland called the Octaland Island. Does anybody really know why they call Octaland the Octaland?

Lindsay got silent and thought for a while. She turned towards her father and asked:

“Father, why is that island called Octaland?”

My father thought for a moment and then said:

“I don’t really know. I haven’t actually thought of it. Why?”

“Nothing!”

She continued reading the new paragraph of the speech:

Gabriels and Hectors, you all people who have wasted your lives in aggressive fights and violence must understand that your actions and your emotions were totally a waste. They have no price in the eyes of your ancestors. I’m sorry to say but you will understand that and agree with me after you read these books.

Today, I’m going to tell you the truth about Octaland tragedy…Gabriel Tribiani and Hector Tribiani, they were step brothers. But they loved each other more than real brothers love each other. They were inseparable. They both were the landlords of the island. And they loved helping the poors. As a matter of fact, it was the purpose of their life. They had this oath that they would help the poor families of the island for the rest of their lives since they were the wealthiest among all.

Now, there were many criminals in the island whose purpose was nothing besides stealing money from others and living luxurious lives through illegal earnings. There was no law in the island. But Hector and Gabriel were the judges of the state. Whenever an illegal activity took place, or whenever there was any criminal activity, the victims would take their case to Tribianis.

There was this young adult named Zion Cesar. His job was to con the people of that city. He was actually a magician. A stage magician. He used to do tricks and illusions in order to impress the audience.

One day, he promised his audience that he would teach them the magic tricks. But for that session, he charged them with double fee. So those who could afford, availed this opportunity. They paid for the tickets. But when they came to his theatre, he wasn’t there. He had escaped. He had conned all of them.

When this news reached Gabriel, he informed Hector and they decided to get the citizens their money back. The moment he was captured and brought before them, Tribianis dealt with him nicely at first. But as he refused to cooperate, they interrogated him and attained the money from his subordinates. He was humiliated before the citizens of Octaland. He couldn’t take it…so he swore that he would avenge his reputation.

Days later, he was living in the city as a man of tarnished reputation. People disliked him and labelled him as disgraceful and disgusting personality. He was so mentally disturbed that he changed his outlook. Then in a disguise, he started conning others once again. Now this time, he was conning others quite strategically. He was targeting people of higher class and in a way that there was no solid evidence of his crimes. And his purpose was to become wealthy enough to have his revenge against the Tribianis.

Zion had a wife and surprisingly he loved her very much. Besides her, he had two sons and three nephews who were his constant subordinates. They helped him in all his crimes. Years passed and he was really close to his goal. He had almost achieved his purpose until Hector Tribiani caught him in the act. The details of the act are in the diary of Hector Tribiani.

Now as he was caught, he was humiliated really badly this time. He was tied to a tree for two days as a punishment. People of Octaland spit on his face. They threw garbage on his face and treated him worse than animals. Tribiani brothers did not like this and decided to shift the captive to their house jail.

One day, his two sons decided to attack Hector and kill him. But fortunately when they were almost about to kill him with a bow and an arrow, Gabriel saved his brother getting injured in the process. He saved his step brother’s life but got the arrow stuck in his chest. The two criminals escaped.

Lindsay stopped reading for a while getting deeply disturbed reading this. After few seconds, she continued:

Hector left the island on a boat to arrange a doctor for his brother. In the meantime, the two sons of Zion wrote a letter and threw it inside the house jail of Tribianis. Their father read the letter and unfortunately for him he just threw it away instead of tearing it apart. One of Hector’s servants found it and showed it to the injured brother Gabriel.

Days later as Hector returned with the doctor, he found his brother dead. He was heartbroken. He was gone insane for two days. When he was informed about the criminals involved behind, he took really strict actions.

One special night while it was raining, Zion saw through a window that his two sons were constantly walking around the house. So what he did was that he asked for a paper from the person who was keeping an eye on him. The jailor unfortunately did so. He handed over a paper and an ink pen. Now on that paper, Zion wrote his last will. I Aaron Tribiani have found his last will and today I’m going to show it to you and read it for you.

Lindsay stopped reading and went to look for that will. She found it easily as I had kept it above all the notes written by his descendants. So anyways, she began reading it:

My dear sons, this is me your father Zion Cesar. I don’t know if you’ll ever get this letter but if you do then you must fulfill my last wish. I want you two to create mischief. I need you both to develop intense rivalry between the two brothers Gabriel and Hector. These two half-brothers loved each other more than real siblings love each other. So what you two have to do is that you’ll have to write books. And not just few books, I mean plenty of books here. In those books you must show how these two brothers were rivals. The descendants of Gabriel must think of Hector as a negative personality and Hector’s children must realise that Gabriel was the villain in his life.

In short, I want their upcoming generations to fight each other and also kill each other for the rest of their lives. And the names disgraceful and disgusting should be given to Gabriel and Hector by the upcoming generations. Now it’s your job to create all these misunderstandings that would lead to disastrous mischiefs in the future.

Yours truly,

Zion Cesar.

Lindsay was left stunned. She had no words to describe how she was feeling after discovering the exact truth about Octaland tragedy.

She didn’t read my speech further.

Next day, Lot Hector after reading the text message he just received from Mr Mark, he dialed Vernon’s number. Vernon answered his call:

“Yes, Mr Lot!”

“Mark Martinez has arranged an event for tomorrow. He has said that all members from Hector family and all from Gabriel Tribe must leave everything and join this event…If they want to know the truth about Octaland tragedy.”

“My dear friend Lot, why are you encouraging this? If you will support this then our entire hard work and fame among our relatives will become a total waste. I urge you to ignore this event.”

“Vernon, I can’t believe what you just said. I never thought that you would be so unfaithful to your family norms and values. I should have realised that the truth does not really matter to you and you just want yourself to be praised among the crowd.”

“Don’t take it the wrong way please. If the truth turns out to be in Gabriels’ favour, then what will you do?”

“It doesn’t matter to me. Even if everyone goes against me then it won’t matter. I want to know the truth. And I shall be standing with the truth.”

“That’s easier said than done.”

“You know what, do what you like. But the moment I find out the truth, and if the truth turns out to be in favor, then you know what I’m going to do?”

“What?” Vernon asked curiously.

“I will expose you…”

Saying this, Lot disconnected the call.

Meanwhile at Tom Collins’ house, I was tied on to a chair. He dialed my wife’s number. Lindsay answered the call after few rings:

“Hello?”

“Lindsay! I know that you have all the books from the Octaland.”

“Who am I speaking to?”

“Zion’s descendant Tom!”

“Oh my God!” she uttered getting severely shocked.

“I want you to bring over the books right now or else you’ll see your husband’s dead body.”

“Oh God, no!” she whispered. “I’m sure, Aaron must not have opened up. It must be his lucky guess.”

“Do you want to hear his voice?”

Tom came towards me and asked me to speak on the phone. Grabbing the opportunity, I said immediately:

“Lindsay don’t bring the books whatsoever. Distribute them among Hectors and Gabriels but don’t come…”

Tom hit me on my head quite sharply interrupting my speech:

“Speak what I told you to…”

I pretended to be sorry and lied:

“Alright, I’ll change my statement now. Let me talk to her.”

He kept the phone close to my face again. I spoke quickly:

“Lindsay, don’t worry about my life. You have to spread the truth. It doesn’t matter if I die.”

This time Tom kicked me on my nose with his knee. He punched me twice on my face saying:

“You lying dog!”

Lindsay was really worried at her home now. Tears were also falling off her eyes. She went straight to her father’s room.

Three hours later, Lindsay, her father and Lot Hector arrived to the location they were asked to by Tom Collins. Mark said to Lot:

“Thanks for coming with us.”

“No problem at all sir. Your son in law did what our bravest warriors never did. I want to see him alive and appreciate him.”

“I just hope we can save him from these dark people.”

They were climbing the stairs of the building. They finally reached the apartment they were supposed to. Mr Mark knocked the door. Within few seconds, the door was answered as if they we criminals were waiting and standing by the door.

The three of them entered inside and saw me tied to a chair with my forehead bleeding. I smiled looking at them assuring them that I was ok. Lindsay began to cry. Tom appeared before them and said:

“Let’s not waste time talking here. Just hand over the books.”

“We won’t unless you release him,” Lot answered.

“I’m seeing that you guys are empty handed. Why is it so?”

“They are here for one final goodbye,” I exclaimed. “We all know that you will kill me after this.”

“No Aaron, they won’t,” Mr Mark said, “they can’t, because the police is waiting for these people downstairs.”

“What?” Tom spoke.

His men began to mumble in confusion.

Angry Tom aimed his gun towards Mr Mark. I spoke in between to provoke him:

“You have no way out Tom. You and your ancestor Zion Cesar have been defeated now. Your dynasty is finished.”

He got severely provoked and aimed his gun towards me. He then pressed the trigger and shot me on my chest.

Lindsay cried out loudly:

“No!”

Mr Mark came running towards me. Lot took out a large knife from inside his pocket. Within ten seconds, he killed two of Tom’s men slashing their throats.

I was sitting injured on the chair and said to Lindsay as she came closer towards me:

“Lindsay, you have always been the true love of my life. I couldn’t have done this without you. Now I want you to spread my message.”

Lot turned and looked at me as he wanted to hear the message I was about to give:

“End all kinds of wars,” I spoke in my last breath. “Do not fight people of any tribe. Be peaceful and love each other.”

Lindsay hugged me and cried out so loud that she lost her voice. Lot and Mr Mark also started weeping. Lot spoke in tender voice:

“After realising the truth about Octaland today, I have come to this conclusion. My ancestor Hector was not the hero of Octaland. Gabriel was not the hero either. It is this guy Aaron Tribiani. Aaron Tribiani is the true hero of Octaland.”

Days later, Lot and Mr Mark were standing in front of all the Gabriels and all the Hectors. Lot was giving out a brief speech:

“From today onwards, we all are not Hectors and Gabriels. We are Tribianis. We are brothers. Yes, I’m saying it. We are all brothers from now on.”

In the audience, bruised Gabriel was sitting with his father Shawn in the front seats. My father was weeping as he had quite recently learnt about my death.

“I would like to end my speech by saying that Aaron was not killed. He was martyred. And I would like to give him the title ‘Martyr of Octaland’.

He went backwards and sat on a chair. Lindsay came up from the audience. She borrowed the mike from her father who was standing with her and began:

“Today, I’m going to reveal the truth about Octaland tragedy. The books are also kept here. We’ll show you all the books. But first I want to read my late husband’s speech…Gabriels and Hectors, you all people who have wasted your lives in aggressive fights and violence must understand that your actions and your emotions were totally a waste.

Several minutes later, she read the last will of Zion Cesar:

My dear sons, this is me your father Zion Cesar…I want you two to create mischief. I need you both to develop intense rivalry between the two brothers Gabriel and Hector…

While everyone was listening to the speech, their jaws were dropped down. Gabriel was weeping and his father was also left astonished.

In the end, Lindsay concluded:

“Aaron Tribiani’s special message for you all. Getting too emotional must be stopped and brought to an end. Remember, no good comes out of being overly emotional and expressive of every feeling.”

They all agreed and clapped after hearing those last words. My father remembered my words:

I promise you that someday I’m going to return and teach this family the true meaning of word…Peace.

 Two Years Later

My name is Aaron Tribiani and I have become history.

Some ten year old boy who was a nephew of Vernon Leaf, was studying some book. His father came and handed over a book to him saying:

“My dear, I want you to read this book.”

The small boy read the title of the book:

“Aaron Tribiani: The True Hero of Octaland by Lot Hector.”
