As Bollywood's latest release Animal anticipates its ascent to blockbuster status, fans have been obsessed with the glitz and glam of the film’s premieres. The special screening in Mumbai recently caught the eye of fashion aficionados who spotted veteran actor Anil Kapoor sporting a jacket from Pakistani streetwear label, Rastah.

Anil, who plays father to Ranbir Kapoor in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s crime thriller, wore the ‘hand-woven dot jacket’ from an archive collection of Rastah. According to the fashion brand’s website, the jacket symbolises the “concepts of surveillance and personal autonomy in the digital age” and has been completely woven by hand by artist-tailor Master Ijaz from Kasur. Founded in 2018 by cousins Zain, Ismail, and Adnan Ahmad, Rastah has been worn by several bigwigs, including Canadian singer Justin Beiber, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, Oscar-winning actor Riz Ahmed and rapper French Montana.
