Taraji P. Henson reunites with Empire co-star in new crime miniseries

Taraji P. Henson, known for her role as Cookie on Empire, is joining former co-star Terrence Howard in the upcoming limited series Fight Night – a drama that revolves around an armed robbery during Muhammad Ali's comeback fight in 1970 and its impact on one man's life and the destiny of an entire city. The musical drama Empire, which ran between 2015 and 2020, revolves around the Lyon family, the owners of a major hip-hop record label called Empire Entertainment, and the succession feud that ensues following Lucious Lyon, the family patriarch and company CEO, getting diagnosed with a terminal illness. The show starred Howard as Lucious.
Now, in a recent report from Variety, Henson, who played Cookie, Lucious’ feisty wife, has been added to the cast of the limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist. Craig Brewer, who also directed Empire, is said to be directing and executive producing this upcoming show as well.
