Cannes Film Festival venue shelters the homeless

Just like everything else, the prestigious film festival was postponed this year but in a heart lifting news, it was revealed that the venue is now housing the homeless amidst the pandemic. The annual film festival in the palm-fringed French Riviera resort had been due to take place from 12 to 23 May. France, much like many other countries, went into lockdown to control the spread of the virus. The 12,000 homeless people faced a quarantine crisis with no place to isolate in so the Town Hall opened its gates. “We have between 50 and 70 people here every night,” said Dominique Aude-Lasset, an official at Cannes Town Hall.
