Once a year, our favourite celebs make their way up to the stairs of New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art for fashion’s big night out which welcomes a unique expression of total sartorial creativity. As the 2020 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala (A.K.A. the Met Gala) got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, so to celebrate we’re taking a look back at some of the best fashion moments in the event’s history. And oh man, are there some good ones. Here’s a walk down the greatest red carpet memory lane.

Lucy Boynton underwent a complete transformation with her ethereal Prada gown and icy blue hair. She looked like the prettiest fairy, in the best possible way.

Wearing a ruffled white gown trailed by a floor-sweeping train, with her dark tresses sculpted into a teased-to-the-heavens bouffant with waist-grazing extensions, Lily Collins channeled Priscilla Presley on her wedding day to Elvis.

Emma Roberts perfected the extravagant fairy princess look, and she did it with pink cherry blossom beads in her hair. The star walked the 2019 Met Gala's pink carpet in a sheer ruffled Giambattista Valli gown.

Daenerys is cool and all, but after seeing Saoirse Ronan don this dragon-esque Gucci dress on the pink carpet, we can't help but think that there's a new Mother of Dragons. Dracarys!
