Feminine and Alluring

We promise you’ll look s-mesh-ing in any of these outfits.

The fashion world has been feeling particularly nostalgic as of late (aka, the 80s, 90s, and 00s have infiltrated the street-style scene without pause this season). Add in the fact that trends are, well, cyclical, and it should come as no surprise that sheer mesh outifits and kurtis, in particular, are one throwback style craze taking the sartorial world by storm right now.

With a charming mix of contemporary designs and vintage glamour elements, mesh fabric has grown considerably in popularity. It was seen all over the fashion runways this season and was sported by our A-list celebrities who gave us some major sytlespiration. Designers use this fabric in one way or another in their dresses. May it be a whole mesh dress or just a dupatta or even just the sleeves, this fabric is incorporated with different fabrics to intensify the beauty of the outfit.

While classic fabric staples like cotton, lawn and silk will no doubt be on the agenda this summer, post quarantine of course, there is another textile trending both on and off the runway – mesh. Mesh is a good friend of spring/summer. Lightweight and alluring, with summer swiftly approaching, it's the perfect time to add a few mesh pieces to your wardrobe.

Mesh is such a versatile fabric. It can be used to create an incredible variety of items: from kurtis to trousers, from cholis to lehengas, to sarees. It can be worn formally as well as casually. From a classy dinner to a wedding event, mesh dresses come in all different designs and embroideries and are something that is both flattering and comfortable. As well as being a dress-up kind of material, mesh is the perfect way to spice up a casual day-to-day outfit.

Embellished mesh is all the rage this season. Pretty 3D flowers, pearls, beads and stones on net fabrics are stars of the season. Although these jeweled net fabrics were once only classified as bridal couture materials. Now, attention to detail is getting more important, and embellished net surely represents any fancy occasion, something that is eye-catching and feminine.

This soft textured net material when beautifully complemented with sparkling details, with a touch of appliquéd work, makes this beautiful fabric even more attention grabbing. And fascinatingly, these embellished designs offer versatile options for your outfit styles, which is probably why net fabrics are proving to be very popular. As such, embellished net can be used to create a saree, a kameez, a gown, or even a jacket.
