60 SECONDS WITH AYMEN SALEEM

Youth Ambassador of the Pakistan Youth Parliament and a Guinness World Record holder, Aymen Saleem, is the daughter of former Pakistani cricket player, Saleem Yousuf and niece of the Queen of Pop, Nazia Hassan. Recently, she took the internet by storm due to her powerful resemblance with her aunt. We wonder if the niece sounds as good as her aunt too. Saleem spares 60 seconds of her life with us for a quick and fun rapid fire. Excerpts:

If your life had a theme song, what would it be?

I Love Me by Demi Lovato.

If you could bring one fictional character to life, who would it be?

Santiago, the protagonist from The Alchemist.

Do you have a useless talent?

I can eat a lot of very spicy food.

Best compliment you have ever received?

Someone very special to me once told me, “You have an infectious, undying self-belief in yourself”.

If you could be a child for one day, what would you do?

Blame all my poor decisions on ‘too much sugar’ [laughs].

An item you like to collect?

I like collecting items that represent something meaningful to me.

What can turn the day around for you?

Coffee!

Your favourite health care regimen?

I like working out, running and Pilates. I also enjoy playing sports like badminton, tennis etc.

Tell us an embarrassing story.

It was a regular day during my summer internship at JP Morgan in New York. I was done for the day and finally leaving the office. I was caffeinated, had my AirPods on and was singing and dancing to a song as I entered the elevator to go to the ground floor. After a while, I casually turned around and saw two of the most senior executives standing and staring at me dancing and singing away! I literally froze and was awfully embarrassed.

Something you wish you had more time to do?

Travel.

If you could meet a person for the first time again, who would it be?

Imran Khan. I met him when I was really young at a cricket team reunion dinner. It would be good to meet him again today as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

A skin care/ health product you swear by?

For daytime, SPF is key. Another staple is glycolic acid to get that healthy glow and clear skin.
