How fatherhood changed everything for George Clooney

After an unsuccessful four-year marriage to Talia Balsam, the actor told Esquire UK in 2014, "I was quoted as saying I'll never get married again pretty much right after I got divorced and then I've never talked about it since." Marrying the decorated Oxford grad Amal Clooney, reversed the two-time Oscar winner's views on matrimony in just four months of dating. Now, nearly six blissful years into a marriage that has produced three-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, the actor, turned 59, can't believe he ever saw it any other way. It was just a scant few years ago he was a dedicated bachelor, battling insomnia and loneliness. He told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017, "That seems like a lifetime ago. Now my house is filled with the warm sounds of babies crying." He added, "Every single day of my life, I just feel lucky. Lucky in my career. Lucky enough to have found the perfect partner. Sometimes in life it doesn't happen on your schedule, but you find the person that you were always supposed to be with. That's how I feel, and I know that's how Amal feels."
