Atif Aslam’s newest project wins the internet

Tugging at heartstrings

As the Holy month of Ramadan comes to an end, the ace singer and pride of the nation, Atif Aslam collaborates with Coke Studio to recite the 99 names of Allah, Asma-ul-Husna, in a gripping execution that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand. Aslam’s soulful vocals lent to the this heart-winning track are another factor that made it an instant hit considering the singer is steering himself towards spiritual poetry and kalaams. Only a couple of months ago, he released a rendition of the Azaan and his previous collaborations with Coke Studio have churned out the likes of Wohi Khuda Hai and Tajdar-e-Haram. The harmonious recitation has been trending for all the right reasons, on repeat we may add, and a subtle indication of the multitalented singer taking his genius to explore more genres. In an interview, Aslam said the track came straight from the heart and as listeners, we can say it reached straight to ours.
