True and the Rainbow Kingdom returns to Netflix with a new special, True: Rainbow Rescue. True and the Rainbow Kingdom is an animated series whose main character helps her friends solve their problems with a combination of magic and old-fashioned determination. The show is rich in positive examples of compassion, empathy, and kindness, made even more obvious in contrast to the actions of True's self-absorbed friend, Grizelda. The stories are less simplistic than many others geared toward the preschool set, and viewers will notice that the characters' efforts often don't achieve the desired result on the first (or even second) try, requiring patience and perseverance to prevail. The vibrant animation, whimsical characters, and wonderful music are the highlights of this endearing series. Now the preschool franchise has returned to the streaming platform with a new adventure. In the 22-minute special, True and Bartleby must travel to the other side of the never ending Rainbow to rescue Rainbow King’s best friend, a brave explorer named Dillydally. When something goes awry in the Kingdom, True is the only one with the ability to wake the powers of the Magical Wishes of the Wishing Tree. True works to solve the problems in the Rainbow Kingdom, so she can keep the citizens safe and empower those around her with imagination, empathy, and mindfulness. The special launched on Netflix on June 2.
