Beyoncé accepts the humanitarian award from none other than Michelle Obama

At the 2020 BET Awards, the Grammy-award winning artist was recognised with the Humanitarian Award, honouring the star for her initiatives. The well-deserved award was presented by former First Lady Michelle Obama, who herself has built a legacy with her charity work. Addressing the audience via video, Michelle started off with, "I am here today to talk about the queen!" She continued, "Beyonce has been lighting up the stages and gracing the world with her talent with her generosity of spirit, and with her love for her community. You can see it in everything she does, from her music, to her activism that demands justice for black lives." The Becoming author signed off her speech, saying, "So to my girl, I want to say, you inspire all of us, which is why I am so proud to name Beyonce the 2020 BET Awards' Humanitarian of the Year honouree. Congratulations." The queen herself then appeared on the video to accept her award and share how much it meant to her to receive the honour.
