Renowned poet Rahat Indori died of Covid-19

Acclaimed Urdu poet Rahat Indori, who tested positive for COVID-19, dies of a heart attack in Indore. Celebrities from the sub-continent came forward to mourn the death of a poet whose poetry was characterised by extreme passion, indomitable spirit and great courage. The 70-year-old poet passed away at Aurobindo Hospital a day after testing positive for coronavirus. “He suffered two heart attacks today and could not be saved. He was admitted to hospital on Sunday, after testing positive for Covid-19. He had 60pc pneumonia,” a newspaper quoted the doctor. The celebrated poet had earlier tweeted to share about his coronavirus diagnosis with his fans and had urged them to pray for his speedy recovery. “After initial symptoms of COVID-19, my corona test was done yesterday which came out positive. Pray that I defeat this disease as soon as possible,” Indori said in his last post. With a 50-year career in poetry, Indori was also known for his lyrics in several films.
