Orange has been the hottest colour of the spring season. Shades of tangerine, terracotta, and peach have been spotted all over Instagram, where sunset-inspired makeup looks are still going strong well into July. The colour has also been a celebrity favourite. The feel-happy hue was spotted on the nails of both Margot Robbie and Selena Gomez within mere weeks of each other. Robbie also sported the trend on the red carpet with terracotta lids, lips, and cheeks during the Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood press tour. The hue is now not only limited to Hollywood, but even our makeup artists have started experimenting with this shade on some of the biggest names in the Pakistani entertainment industry. That being said, shades of orange are also perfect for fall, which – scorching temps notwithstanding – is just around the corner. Burnt orange cheeks and rust-coloured lipsticks will easily transition the trend from sundress season to sweater weather.

Convinced to take the hue on a test drive? We've rounded up the best orange eyeshadows, liners, blushes, and lipsticks, along with six ways to wear this colour, so you can rock the trend over the next few months. Read on:

Try an orange eyeshadow

The easiest way to incorporate orange into your makeup look is by creating a soft eyeshadow look. Keep it matte for a luxe feel, or to brighten the look, add a pop of shimmer to the centre or inner corner of your lid. The tangy hue also works well when it’s blended upwards towards the brow bone. To ensure the colour remains vibrant, you may need to apply a white base using a fair-toned concealer or a light liquid shadow.

Blend gold-toned hues

An orange-toned glow up would be straight fire. For an easy introduction into the colour palette, blend together golden, bronze, and copper tones. The colour families complement each other allowing you to create a harmonious, cohesive look. To achieve this bronzed orange vibe, get creative and use your highlighter palette to accent your eyes or use the shimmers from an orange-toned eyeshadow palette as a highlighter.

Keep it monochromatic

Monochromatic makeup is a huge trend right now, so max out on the hype and create an orange monochrome look. Monochromatic makeup is created by using the same colour theme for your entire look, including your eyes, cheeks, and lips. For instance, if you’re wearing a burnt orange lip, use this colour theme to accent your eyes and cheeks – team it with a warm orange eyeshadow and copper bronzer.

Add a neon flare

Okay, we have to admit, Kendall Jenner’s neon eye makeup is a throwback makeup look but it’s so good we had to mention it. If you’re feeling daring, mix up your orange vibe with a neon flare. MUA Mary Phillips created this look on Kendall using the Danessa Myricks Beauty Waterproof Cushion Liner. The super pigmented, waterproof formula is easily blendable, meaning you can apply a wet wash of colour like Kendall or use with a flat angled brush to create a fierce neon cat-eye.

Wear a warm, orange blush

Blush is making a comeback this year, and beyond the classic rosy shades (although, we love those too), we’re vibing a warm copper blush. It’s modern, contemporary, and leaves you with a bronzed glow. When applying an orange-toned blush, begin by dusting the apples of your cheeks, then sweep your brush along your contour for a sculpted glow.

Work a tangy lip

When choosing an orange lipstick, you can play it safe with a burnt nude or work a brighter shade. This looks particularly stunning on deeper skin tones, and we say the brighter the orange, the better! But regardless of the hue, whenever you’re looking for a lipstick, always consider the undertone. If you have cool undertones, look for a lipstick with a blue or white base, if you have warm undertones, look for a shade with golden, yellow undertones.
