Into the Night: Season 2

At the end of season one, the survivors arrived at a bunker and found safety. But, of course, it’s never as simple as that. Into the Night: Season 2 isn’t up to the mark. Everything that worked really well in the first season is now on the backburner. The characters are generally pretty annoying and we’re getting nowhere really slowly. With the second season, we’re in that Murphy’s Law territory where anything that can go wrong will go wrong. And fine, accidents happen. Still, it’s too much and not necessarily relevant to the core story. We do still get a few flashback moments, but on a much smaller scale, which is a shame. One of the worst realisations was the fact that we didn’t care much about any of the characters. Most of the cast is back for this second season. Well, the ones who survived, obviously. This second season should work because it had so much more to delve into and a post-apocalyptic world as its backdrop. Instead, so many bad choices are made. So much so, that this feels like a different show all together. For one, all those relationships and possible romantic entanglements that seemed possible during season two, have now been brought to the forefront. Sure, the world is ending and few people remain to try and save it, but that clearly isn’t interesting enough for a series.
