Saheefa Jabbar bursts the unacceptance around cosmetic surgery

Breaking the taboo

Talking about plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures is still considered something of a taboo, particularly for celebrities who face increasing pressure to look perfect, and for longer. Whether it’s for the purpose of beautification or to cater to a health issue, it's perhaps unsurprising that many stars choose to keep their procedures under wraps, but one high-profile name who has openly shared her viewpoint and experience of going under the knife is Saheefa Jabbar. “I had a deviated septum. The doctor told us we'd need to operate on the nose and surgically fix the bone,” she wrote on her Instagram. Jabbar then mentioned how this topic is considered taboo in Pakistan. “Cosmetically solving medical issues is considered such a taboo thing to do in Pakistan and it isn’t as people imagine it to be. It isn't always about beautification, there are a good number of cases when it's about alleviating pain, and improving health. It's best to educate ourselves before jumping to conclusions and making assumptions," she explained.
