Iffat Omar is not pleased with the Pak-Turk collaboration on series about Salahuddin Ayyubi

Hot news!

Time and again, our famous A-listers give social media something to talk about. Recently, actor, model and host, Iffat Omar shared her displeasure over upcoming Pak-Turk collaboration on series about Salahuddin Ayyubi. And while her opinion rubbed some in the wrong way, it did make others ponder over what she said. During an interview with Naumaan Ijaz, where he questioned the actress on how the government has promoted Islamic history by airing popular Turkish shows, the actress answered, "They [Turks] invaded us. Understand this. We do not need fictional characters; we need stories about scientists. There's not a single mathematician, a scientist in Pakistan that is known world over." Then asserting her views on the collaboration, she said, "He [Salahuddin Ayyubi] is not our hero. This has been indoctrinated in Pakistanis since our country has been formed. We think of ourselves as superiors. Our history is of sub-continent; we need to endorse that. Our history isn't of Turkey."
