60 SECONDS WITH HIRA TAREEN

Striking features, capturing eyes and a head turner, Hira Tareen has walked the ramp for big labels and designers for a long time. As for her acting career, her appearances include Mohabat Subh Ka Sitara Hai, Goya, Tum Kon Piya, Khuda Mera Bhi Hai, Khaas, Zard Zamano Ka Sawera and Choti Choti Batain, to name a few. She has also appeared in two 2013 drama films, Behadd and Seedlings. The model-turned-actor is dynamic and multitalented, be it rocking the runway or her impeccable acting skills. MAG sits down with her for a quick chat. Here are 60 seconds from her life. Excerpts:

The biggest perk of being you?

The perks of being me are many; being able to switch between things when I get bored since I do so many things. If acting or modelling work gets monotonous, I take up a music gig, do conceptual work or creative direction for a project. Also, the fact that I have an unlimited access to my own clothing brand is great.

Best part of the day for you is?

Early mornings are just beautiful.

What are you currently listening to?

Nothing. Everything sounds forced these days. Just cleansing my musical palate.

If stuck on an island, you would...

Kick back, relax and have some coconut water till someone rescues me.

The last photograph you took was…

A bad selfie that I would never post online.

Life for you is…

A precious gift and I am grateful to spend it with the people I love.

Best memory to-date is…

A family trip to Khanaspur when I was six. I still remember seeing outside our room when we woke up because we were so high up. It was surreal.

Your beauty philosophy is...

Beauty is essentially loving and taking care of yourself. As clichéd as it may sound, what is happening internally really does show up externally. So we do need to be happy on the inside to be truly beautiful and radiant on the outside.
